4th of July in Aspen is as dreamy as it gets! From the famous Aspen 4th of July Parade to the annual dinner party I host, it is always one of my favorite days of the year.
Every year, I host a 4th of July dinner party for 30 people at my family’s home in Aspen following the famous Aspen parade. It is such a special way to spend the holiday! We start the day early in town watching the parade while enjoying drinks with friends on the patio of the restaurant Mi Chola on Main Street so we could see the start of the parade. Once the parade was over, we headed back to the house to setup for our annual party.
The key to the perfect party is plenty of non-cheesy theme-relevant florals and decor. Sashae Floral is our florist of choice because Heather, the founder, makes the most stunning arrangements. We decided on red, white and blue arrangements to accompany our cute picnic-like plates and cups. We even had red, white and blue beaded napkin rings! You can find most of the decor we used at the famous Aspen boutique Amen Wardy.
As guests arrived, servers offered rosé and champagne to kick off the evening. However, as the night progressed, tequila became the drink of choice thanks to my dads extensive tequila selection. We sat for dinner right as the sun was setting which made for a dreamy landscape. Guests enjoyed crab, steak, potatoes au gratin, lentil salad, arugula and beet salad and creamed corn for dinner by the well-known local Chef JT.
We ended the night surrounding the outdoor fire pit waiting for the drone show that sadly never happened due to high winds. Truthfully, we didn’t need it anyway since it was already the perfect night!
