There are few better ways to spend a summer weekend than at Aspen Food & Wine with Whispering Angel. I have always loved the annual Food & Wine festival held in Aspen each June, but this year, I loved it more than ever! Why? Because I had the pleasure of experiencing it with Chateau d’Esclans, the vineyard that produces the well-known Whispering Angel rosé. If you didn’t already know, The Starling Project has proudly created a Rosé All Day candle inspired by Whispering Angel, so we were happy to be present in all things Aspen Food & Wine alongside the Whispering Angel team.
The weekend began with a rooftop soirée on Thursday evening at Dancing Bear, a local Aspen venue. I met up with friends and we kicked off the weekend cheersing rosé and doing a cheese tasting which was followed by some dancing thanks to DJ Cyn. On Friday morning, the festival officially kicked off. I started with the seminar “To Brie or Not to Brie” because who doesn’t want a cheese tasting for breakfast? I then jetted over to the grand tasting to join the Whispering Angel team at their dreamy booth. We enjoyed tasting a variety of the wines Chateau d’Esclans offers and took photos with the “Save Water, Drink Rosé” camel. We ended Friday with a seminar by Paul on the Chateau d’Esclans team called “Rosés of St. Tropez” which included tasting 6 varieties of rosé and learning all about why the beverage became so popular in the South of France.
I took it a bit easier on Saturday given I was hosting a Sunset Soirée for Whispering Angel and Starling Project that evening. The party was the highlight of my weekend and it seemed to be a highlight for many others. Somehow 120 people showed up and we enjoyed yet another rosé tasting with the beautiful views. Both Aspen friends and friends from all over the country joined. It really was a magical evening and the perfect way to end Aspen Food & Wine. Hope you enjoy some of my favorite moments captured this weekend!
