It is not too often you get a call from Neimans to host a runway show for your favorite fashion designer. Naturally, I quickly accepted the offer. After attending many Libertine runway shows in the past, I knew I was in for a treat with my friend, Creative Director of Libertine, Johnson Hartig. Johnson is the happiest, most exciting person I know and his designs entirely reflect his jovial personality.
The invite-only Libertine Show took place this past Thursday at Neiman Marcus and roughly 70 people attended. The top floor of Neiman Marcus was transformed into a runway with Libertine’s signature branding at the start of the runway. Sequin pillows and Libertine soup cans filled the room and fantastic hor d’oeuvres and wine were served. My personal favorite part was the photo booth which featured a sequin backdrop and incredible props such as a mini “Libertine” jet, red telephone, pirate hats and Marie Antoinette wigs. Props to my good friend Allie Turney who runs PR for Neimans for curating the incredible event!
I started the evening off welcoming guests. Once everyone was in their seats, I introduced Johnson and the runway show began. Johnson narrated the show sharing his inspiration for each piece. The beautiful thing about Johnson’s designs is that each one is unique and makes a statement. I wear a lot of black so I love that I can throw one of his jackets over a black outfit to make my outfit pop. I also love that there is something for everyone. He makes such a variety of pieces that I can guarantee you that you can find something that speaks to you. Johnson is truly a creative genius!
The event was a massive success! Johnson and I couldn’t resist crawling into the Neiman Marcus window with champagne to celebrate the end of an amazing evening!
