We FINALLY spent the weekend exploring our new neighborhood and spending time in our new Manhattan home. For years I lived in Tribeca and then lived in the West Village temporarily at the Standard Hotel, but I am thrilled to say that Carey and I have finally settled in West Chelsea. I can’t wait to spend the next few years (at least) in this incredible area.
We purchased this apartment specifically because of the West Chelsea location. We not only love the neighborhoody, charming location, but we also believe it is one of the best areas to buy in currently given the prices per square foot combined with the fact that it is only getting more and more charming every day.
Below you can see images that show just how charming it is! We spent the weekend exploring local hot spots including brunch at one of our longtime favorite restaurants Cookshop. We are lucky to have this restaurant a short half block away from our apartment building. There are very few brunches in the city as great as Cookshop! I personally recommend the corn meal pancakes and an almond milk cappuccino, but the egg dishes are also divine.
We then spent the afternoon in the front and back gardens at The High Line Hotel which is conveniently located next door to Cookshop. The hotel is a stunning historic landmark that was a 17th century apple orchard. In my opinion, there are few spots in Manhattan as peaceful and beautiful. We spent some time reading and sipping on coffee from the garden food truck.
Finally, we ended the afternoon with a stroll on the elevated park the High Line. The weather was in the mid 70s which was ideal. We walked for about an hour, finally sitting down to share an ice cream cookie sandwich from the Melt ice cream stand. One of the greatest things about the High Line is all of the food stands offering everything from coffee to empanadas.
The best thing about West Chelsea is all that it has to offer. We are steps away from Chelsea Market and some of the best restaurants in all of New York. Expect me to share more as we spend more time in our lovely new neighborhood.
