It’s official! I get married this weekend! I couldn’t be more excited. Thank you to everyone who has been sending in suggestions for posts. Over the past few weeks many of you have been requesting I do a post on my wedding prep, so today’s post is all about what I did to prep for the big day.
Firstly, I must say that a lot of what you will read below is what I do regularly, but I amped up my workouts and also was more consistent than ever with my beauty routine and diet. I will start with my typical workout.
I have been traveling quite a bit over the past year, especially with building my parents new Aspen house, so I haven’t been able to go to work out classes as often as I usually like to, so I had to manage workouts on my own. This has included running, planks, pushups, jumping jacks and yoga. All of these are easy to do anywhere, so it helped me keep a consistent routine.
I always start with 15 pushups and then hold a plank on my forearms for as long as possible. That is followed by a yoga sun salutation and 100 jumping jacks. I repeat this routine 4 times. Then I go on a run with the energy I have left. I personally like switching up my running path every day just to keep things interesting. I also listen to extremely upbeat songs to keep me motivated. Right now my go-to song is Good Day by Nappy Roots – old school, but I love it for working out. You’re also in for a real treat if you click on the link and watch the music video. : )
My Beauty Routine:
For my beauty routine, I religiously take vitamins since I am a vegetarian. I think it is important for everyone to take at least a daily vitamin to ensure they are getting everything they need. My daily vitamin of choice is NatureMade Multi for Her. For the wedding, I added in a biotin supplement to help my hair grow, nails strengthen and skin glow. I recommend Olly Undeniable Beauty Gummy Biotin Vitamins. They are so tasty! I also highly recommend Olaplex No 3 for blonde’s to keep dyed hair healthy and long. It is an absolute must for me since I personally do not want to use hair extensions on the wedding day.
For my face, I use Kiehl’s Ultrafacial Cleanser every night and EO Transformative Night Serum which leaves my face feeling fresh. After the serum, I apply Cellex-C Sea Silk Oil Free Moisturizer. This moisturizer has quite literally changed my life! People constantly comment on how great my skin looks since I started using it. I have acne prone skin and I can tell you that this is the only moisturizer that doesn’t break me out.
I am a vegetarian, so eating well is already a part of my lifestyle, but my biggest weaknesses are carbs and desserts, which I substantially cut down over the past month. I drink at least 8 cups of water a day and have pretty much cut out alcohol. All of this has also had a massive impact on my skin making it glow more than ever!
