I finally got a much needed mini-vacay in Montauk at Hero Beach Club this past weekend! Hero is a fantastic newly renovated property located right on the beach in Montauk AND it happens to be a bit more chill than some of the other hotels in the area which is a huge plus in my opinion. Carey and I have been overwhelmed with the wedding being only a couple of weeks away, moving into our new apartment and busy work schedules, so a fun, yet relaxing weekend was exactly what we both needed!
We enjoyed everything Hero had to offer from the attentive staff to the chill music being played by the pool. My personal favorite part of the weekend was the free yoga offered on Saturday and Sunday mornings on the beautiful lawn. It also doesn’t hurt that the beach was just a couple steps away from our bedroom door. I forgot how nice it is to just be able to walk right out to a lounge chair with staff to accommodate your needs. So nice!
Thanks to Carey being friends with one of the owners of Hero Beach Club, Jon Krasner, I scored a quick interview with him. I have always been fascinated with hospitality, so I figured it was a great opportunity to share some of Jon’s thoughts about starting the new popular boutique hotel:
S: What inspired you to start Hero Beach Club?
J: I have always loved Montauk and I knew from the moment I saw the location that it is ideal for a hotel like this. I am targeting people interested in wellness and relaxation as opposed to people simply interested in partying. There was a real need for something like this in Montauk and that inspired me.
S: What do you think makes Hero unique from other Montauk hotels?
J: I think our hotel provides a renovated, boutique property with a heated pool on a less-crowded, beautiful beach. I am not sure any other hotel in the area has everything we have. Hero is also an ideal event space and can accommodate up to 300 people for a beach or backyard event. I think it is a hard venue to beat.
S: What is your personal favorite thing about Hero?
J: I love sitting in the backyard at the hotel feeling like I am in the sand dunes. It is also amazing meeting different types of people at Hero and easily being able to spark a meaningful conversation in an intimate, inviting setting.
