Fisher Island Proposal
I often get asked to tell the story about how my fiancé Carey proposed so I figured why not share it here? I may be a little biased, but I think our Fisher Island proposal story is one of the very best. I still can’t believe what an amazing evening my fiancé planned!
We were in Palm Beach for the weekend and Carey mentioned that we needed to drive to Fisher Island for the evening because his boss had planned a company dinner. As we drove south from Palm Beach towards Miami, Carey wasn’t acting strange at all, so truthfully it didn’t even cross my mind that he might propose.
Once we arrived to Fisher Island, Carey said that we had about 20 minutes before the company dinner started, so he suggested we walk over to the beach to check it out. As we approached the water, I noticed a table set up for two people and immediately told Carey that something must be going on so I suggested we leave the area. He insisted we take a quick look around. Before I could say anything else, he grabbed me by the hand and led me onto the sand and close to the water.
Next thing I knew he was on his knee and a violinist started to play! I literally couldn’t believe it and basically blacked out. He uttered some words I don’t remember, but it was the most special moment of my life having the person I love most asking to marry me in one of the most beautiful places in the United States. After a million phone calls to friends and family, we ended the night with the a magical dinner together alone on the beach where we ate my favorite foods! Carey had customized the menu to buratta to start, ravioli as an entree and a chocolate souffle for dessert. Literally my favorite foods. We stayed on the beach until sunrise the next morning and then spent the day exploring Fisher Island by golf cart. It couldn’t have been more amazing.
Serious props to Carey for the perfect Fisher Island proposal, am I right?
